It is the season of love and that is the reason for me to write. Love is a sweetness of our emotion. It is a wonderful feeling of commitment and completion which sets one free. I am a romantic, highly influenced by poems and writings of some of world’s greatest romantics like Rabindranath Tagore, Pablo Neruda, Paulo Coelho and more. So here is my list of 9 favourite love quotes which I believe to the core.
2 of My Favourite Love Quotes by Tagore
“Love does not claim possession, but gives freedom.” ~Rabindranath Tagore. The above line is so true. Love never binds us but teaches us absolute freedom. Rabindranath Tagore was not only a romanticist but a humanist and his writings portray that vividly.
The other love quote by him which is also my favourite is the following- “Love is the only reality and it is not a mere sentiment. It is the ultimate truth that lies at the heart of creation.” ~Rabindranath Tagore.
My Favourite Love Quote by Neruda
“I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.” ~Pablo Neruda.
A romantic and a revolutionary, Pablo Neruda, is most celebrated for his love poems which are bold, beautiful, sensuous, evocative and soul touching. His poems provide some of the best love quotes possible.
My Favourite Love Quote by Paulo Coelho
“When we love, we always strive to become better than we are. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.” ~Paulo Coelho.
This love quote is so simple a statement, yet so deep and difficult for us in reality. Had we loved truly, we all would have been a better version of ourselves, making the world a better place to live in. I love reading his books as deep down the underlying theme and the driving force is always love.
Love Quote in the Form of a Love Letter
Find what you love and let it kill you. Let it drain you of your all. Let it cling onto your back and weigh you down into eventual nothingness. Let it kill you and let it devour your remains. For all things will kill you, both slowly and fastly, but it’s much better to be killed by a lover.
2 Special Love Quotes by 2 Poetesses
“We should meet in another life, we should meet in air, me and you.” ~Sylvia Plath. Sylvia Plath was one of the poets who led the Confessional Movement and wrote down highly personal verses. They are timeless pieces.
Next I would like to mention Emily Dickinson’s love quote. She had made some major contributions to the Romantic Movement. One of my favourite quotes are- “That love is all there is, is all we know of love.” ~Emily Dickinson.
Love Quote by Haruki Murakami
“If you can love someone with your whole heart, even one person, then there’s salvation in life. Even if you can’t get together with that person.” ~Haruki Murakami. The very essence of Murakami’s work is love.
Ending with Love from Sadhguru
Sadhguru, the Indian Spiritual leader and author, is one of world’s most popular facilitators, helping thousands to streamline their lives. He explains so much about being in love. His poems on love are so thought provoking. Let us always flow in love, be free and blissful and remember the following love quote- “If it is conditional, it is not love.” ~Sadhguru
